What is DSL?
a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University delivering VR-based learning experiences through cinematic storytelling enabling students to step into immersive worlds and learn through exploration.
Project Overview
Dreamscape Learn’s VR pods were growing faster than its booking system could handle. Admin teams were managing hundreds of VR session requests through spreadsheets and endless email chains casuing a lot of disorganization.
The ASK
Replace a manual and intensive system with one that scales with demand and reduces operational risk.
Success looked like:
01
Reducing average vetting time from 72 hours → under 12 hours
02
Improving compliance accuracy from ~70% to 95%
03
Increasing admin capacity to handle 3× more bookings
04
Decreasing conflicts, duplicates and support tickets
So for the next 12 weeks, we dived deep into..

Research and Discovery
02
Analysis and Synthesis

Formulation and Application
Research and Discovery
To design a scalable solution, we began by understanding how DSL’s operations actually worked, where requests originated, how they were vetted, and why delays or errors occurred.
Our research focused on surfacing bottlenecks in the existing manual system and aligning design priorities with real-world admin needs.
